Petra 4294
XRF Sulfur Analyzer

The Petra series complies with ASTM D8252, ASTM D4294 and ISO 8754 for sulfur analysis in various hydrocarbon matrices. Petra 4294™ delivers precise sulfur analysis with limits of detection (LOD) as low as 2.6 ppm.

Features

Petra 4294

XRF Sulfur Analyzer

  • Petra is powered by High Definition X-ray Fluorescence (HDXRF®) technology, ultra-low background
  • LOD: 2.6 ppm @ 600 s
  • Simple sample preparation and instrument operation process, fast detection
  • Fits on any lab bench, Just plug-in and measure
  • During the detection process, the sample cup is placed vertically. In case of accidental leakage, it can directly fall into the oil trap and will not enter the instrument
  • No moving parts in the analyzer
  • No sample loss or conversion, no gas consumption and high temperature operation
  • Optional sample cup with QR code, the instrument can scan code directly to record information
  • Option autosampler

Working principle

A monochromatic X-ray beam with a wavelength suitable to excite the K-shell electrons of sulfur is focused onto a test specimen contained in a sample cell. The fluorescent Kα radiation at 0.5373 nm (5.373 Å) emitted by sulfur is collected by a fixed monochromator (analyzer). The intensity (counts per second) of the sulfur X rays is measured using a suitable detector and converted to the concentration of sulfur (mg/kg) in a test specimen using a calibration equation.

Specifications

  • LOD: 2.6ppm@ 600 s
  • Dynamic Range: 2.6 ppm – 10 wt%
  • Sample Volume: <10ml
  • Power only, no combustion and gas consumption
  • With the function of multi calibration curve storage, can measure different samples
  • Measurement: User selectable: 30-900 s

Applications

Petrochemical products such as gasoline, diesel, blending distillate, jet fuel, kerosene, biodiesel, Biodiesel Blended fuel, ethanol gasoline, heavy oil, etc. It is suitable for petrochemical enterprises, refining, quality inspection departments, third-party testing and other industries.
